How I Style Linen Fabrics for Summer

“Deal with yourself as an individual worthy of respect, and make everyone else deal with you the same way.” ~ Nikki Giovanni
Hey sweetie pies! Happy Tuesday! For today’s post I wanted to do something a little different from my usual #ootd. I wanted to share a classic feminine look. I definitely think it has a minimalist feel to it. I kept the pretty soft and neutral, which is different from what I usually go for. Normally I gravitate towards black and white in bold prints or bold colors. Plus I want to start showing a little more skin. I don’t see myself a lot in the near future because that’s not really my style. I will dress like that for performances but not so much on the day to day. I think a little reveal of skin here or there is sexy. At the end of the day, it’s all about what makes you feel sexy right?

With this Houston heat, my daytime looks call for comfort. In previous years, I didn’t own much linen, yet alone wanted to own some linen clothes. But I would say in the past 6 months or so, I have been exploring dressing more for comfort these days. Don’t get me wrong, I will still wear a mini dress or heels. I am loving the linen fabrics and this blouse and skirt are both linen. Super breathable and light –  this look also paired well with gold and neutral accessories. Another thing I am really loving this season are scarves and bandanas. I love seeing them tied on a handbag like I did here. I also like seeing them worn on the arm or in the hair. It adds such a feminine playful touch. It totally gives me Elle Woods vibes.
How do you dress to be the heat and still slay the summer? Let me know in the comments below!
