Summer ’18 Trend Watch : Straw Handbags

One trend that I have been obsessing over lately is the straw bag. You have probably seen this trend on your IG feed or through Pinterest. At first sight, I didn’t think I would like this trend. The idea of straw itself made me itch lolz. But this once frumpy and overlooked handbag has been upgraded and I don’t hate it! I did a bit of searching and these are the ones that stood out to me the most. I like trying trends that often have something unique about them. It can be something as simple as the color or buttons that makes it stand out to me. I loved the black straw caged bag from Anthropologie, it is a dupe for the Cult Gaia bag. I love seeing it in this black and the handles are unique. This perfect for an evening out for dinner. Imagine a nice flowy maxi dress, sandals, some hoops and this bag – so fab!

This one from Eudon Choi is such a gorgeous choice! It is a little higher on the price tier but worth it in my opinion! This is a gorgeous option to take to the office. The fabric adds a sophisticated touch to this handbag as well as the structure. The fabric conveniently ties at the top to secure your belongings. Smart choice for anyone who is a minimalist or lover of a classic aesthetic.

Perhaps you are looking for a chic carryall for your daily essentials? This embroidered tote by Rebecca Minkoff is the one! I love that it is black first of all because most straw totes are tan. It definitely helps to make all of the accents really pop. I love the option to carry it two ways, either in hand or over the shoulder. Plus the round handle is a nice touch! I have totally been digging handbags with geometric handles lately. I need to get my hands on at least one bag lolz.
