“I’m convinced that we Black women possess a special indestructible strength that allows us to not only get down, but to get up, to get through, and to get over.” ~ Janet Jackson
Hey hey sweetie pies, happy Thursday! I hope you guys enjoyed reading Tuesday’s post where I shared 3 things you need for a successful dance career. I enjoyed writing that post. I am going to try to write more dance related posts such as that from a professional perspective.
I am striving to be more transparent with you guys – especially here on my blog. I need to be completely honest with you all. I have not been practicing what I preach lately. I always talking loving yourself and taking care of yourself and honestly I feel like I have let that go. I had an anxiety attack on last week and it was the scariest thing! It scared me so much that I called my mom. (Anyone else call their mom for like everything?!) After I had explained to my mom what had been going on with me – one of the first things that she asked me was “Are you taking time out for yourself?”. I was surprised because once I thought about it – I really hadn’t. I haven’t been putting myself first or even practicing loving myself. So I am working on putting myself back as my number 1 priority. I often times get so consumed with working, dancing and blogging that I forget to just chill. I get caught up in all the titles that I have that I forget to just be Stormie.
So to start this off, I want to get back to the place where I love myself unapologetically. For today’s post I am going to share 10 things that I love about myself. This may sound vain to some but I am SO HARD on myself that I neglect just all the things that I have accomplished and just how awesome I am! We all possess qualities that make us special and I just want to use this post to celebrate mine! 🙂
1. My zest for life!
2. My beautiful hair.
3. How passionate I am.
4. My willingness to learn.
5. My creativity.
6. My beautiful body and skin.
7. How hard I love.
8. My empathy towards others.
9. My intelligence.
10. How silly I am.
Practice self love with me by sharing something unique about yourself that you love in the comments below! I can’t wait to read them! I was extremely nervous about sharing something as serious as this with you all. However, I feel so much better! I hope that maybe this inspires someone to be a little more patient with yourself and love yourself a little better.
As always, XO and Stay FAB! ~ Stormie J
