“The greatest lie ever told about love is that it sets you free.” ~ Zadie Smith
There are so many new and even reoccurring trends that I want to highlight, style and even revamp. I may need to create a third part…if I did, would y’all be down for that? Let me know in the comments. Without further adieu, let’s get started!
Colored Pants Suit
Or matching co-ordinates, whatever floats your boat. But this trend is definitely one that is being seen everywhere this season. Opt for one in a bright hue to get yourself in the spirit of Spring. The best part is that the pants suit is no longer for just stuffy offices and painful pointed toe pumps. These suits can be styled with sneakers, booties or flats. Whatever vibe you are looking for I can guarantee that you will find one that suits you. (No pun intended….or was it? Lol I kid) For this particular look below, I would opt to tuck this graphic tee to accentuate the waist. I wanted a graphic tee but minimal so that it wouldn’t compete with the suit. This black and white one was perfect! My accessories are kept at a minimal but offer unique details which allow them to stand out but not overwhelm the entire look. A pop of white at the bottom for a little fun factor. Plus white booties are totally in so yeah they are worth looking into.
I didn’t invest in this trend last year but considering that they are making a comeback I might have to. These handbags can also be referred to as wicker bags or straw bags but there are so many styles of handbags that fall under this umbrella. This first look is super fun and perfect for a vacation! Just imagine having a drink under an umbrella on a beach or at a seaside restaurant in this outfit! I love this off the shoulder bardot top and these ruffles! They are so adorable and super feminine! (Right up my alley!) If you are looking to add color in a major way to your wardrobe then I suggest you try some colored cropped pants. These tassel details are super adorable and on trend. I was able to link these exact pair of pants so feel to check them out there. I love the look of these sandals and they look great with the handbag. Some vintage hoops and cool sunnies and you are done!
This style of bag made it’s initial debut last year being seen on every fashion blogger’s instagram. Due to the quick increase of bloggers’ stamps of approval, this bag began to sell out any and everywhere. This season they are back in numerous colors and various shapes. I decided to play with some textures a bit with this satin blouse and faux leather skirt. I loved the drawstring belt to cinch in the waist – complimenting this drapey blouse quite well. These silver structured earrings are very now and look like a work of art but for your ears! Some simple yellow sandals and black sunglasses to complete the look.
Black Bamboo Clutch
Gingham
The print nostalgic with traditional picnics is back this season. Whether you will be incorporating into your wardrobe in a major or minor way, I got you. For this first look, I started with this adorable gingham mini dress then I added the sneakers because I wanted a cute but casual vibe. Then I opted for this straw bag with this printed denim jacket. I love the flower details – so feminine! Last but not least, some chic cat eye sunglasses to complete the look. For added flair, opt to wear the jacket oversized and off the shoulder.
Gingham Dress
Perhaps gingham is a print that you don’t immediately gravitate towards but you are looking to try it? Simple solution – opt for an affordable accessory! One of the cheapest ways that you can try certain trends is by opting for a bag, sunglasses or a scarf. In this case, this handbag is adorable. I love the structure as well as the cost – under $20! The bag plus the shoes add some structure to this look to help contrast the ruffles in the romper. The red sunglasses are very now and compliment these shoes.
Fanny pack – whatever you choose to call it – is making a return from the 90s! While street stars are grabbing ones from vintage shops – this unique accessory has received a major update with the structure of today’s handbags. This trend is also being seen from designers such as Gucci and Louis Vuitton. I opted for a pair of sleek black trousers with a graphic tee. To add a fun element to this look, I opted for this floral blazer. (Blazers..for Spring? Groundbreaking) These pink sunnies are too cute to pass up and to keep the look low-key, I finished the look with these flat mules.
For this second look, I wanted it to be more casual and laid back. This outfit is great for spending the day with friends or shopping at the mall. I liked the use of rose gold in the accessories plus this Gucci dupe that I found was too cute. I just had to style it. I opted for some skinny cropped jeans then paired it with this halter top. This printed kimono is perfect for layering but will keep you cool during those warm afternoons. Finish the look with some sneakers and sunglasses for an easy look.
