How to Style Black in the Summer

Hey hey, sweetie pies, what’s good? It has been a whirlwind of a month for your girl. Summer is here and your girl is OUT! I have been attending different events (as well as planning some of my own) but that’s for another blog post. I enjoy dressing up and having fun with what I wear. For some, it is a fashion faux pas but I am the type of girl to wear black for every single season. I just love black. Black is chic. Black is timeless. Black is versatile. It is a color that lends itself well to any aesthetic. Regardless of your style, glam, edgy punk, minimalist, urban, classic, or somewhere in between, you can find black items that fit into your aesthetic.

Black Accessories

This is easiest way to ease black into your summer outfits. Sandals, scarves, sunglasses and belts are more likely in your possession already. With this look my sandals, sunnies, belt and handbag were the pops of black in this outfit. My headscarf also included black which helped to tie in the look. This look can be easily replicated with any white top and light wash denim shorts. Here I have a top from my boutique and denim shorts from Target completed with black accessories for an easy, effortless look.

Black with Neutrals

The second way to style black into your summer wardrobe is to pair it with neutrals. To keep the look within season, opt for neutrals in light fabrics such as linen and cotton. Here I paired this black top with cropped off white wide leg trousers. Black, lightweight fabrics are great for summer as they’re versatile and comfortable. This look is super easy. I can see myself wearing this on vacation touring the sights. I completed it with these thrifted croc sandals, sunnies, a belt, earrings and handbag from my boutique. (Launching soon!)

Black with Pops of Color

For my last and favorite way to style black for the summer is to pair it with color! For this look, I paired the same black top with these bright patterned yellow shorts. Channeling my inner Queen bee and I love it! I pulled more color into this look by accessorizing with yellow acrylic earrings coming soon to the boutique) and my handbag. Black takes a back seat to any bright bold color if done right. I incorporated other black and white items to bring balance.

Which look is your favorite? Will you be incorporating more black into your summer wardrobe? Let me know in the comments! Also, let me know if you would like to see a part 2!
