4 Inexpensive Date Ideas for Valentine’s Day

“Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.” ~ Dalai Lama
Hey hey sweetie pies! I want to start off by explaining why I haven’t posted this week. Well this  time last year I lost 2 special women in my life so I haven’t been feeling completely like myself this week. Plus my boyfriend got in a car accident earlier this week and it gave me quite the scare when I got that phone call. He is ok, thank God! I don’t want to go into a lot of details because I want to respect his privacy as much as possible. But he is fine and we are taking it one day at a time. It has been definitely an emotional week. I am the type of person that if I am not in a good headspace, I don’t want to write. The reason that is because I feel like it ends up coming out as I write, I am uninspired or I just don’t do as good of a job as I could. I hope that you guys understand and aren’t too upset with me. (Insert puppy dog eyes)

Valentine’s day is less than a week away! You want to do something with your hun but maybe funds are tight. Or perhaps you want to save some money this year by not going over the top with gifts and dates? Or maybe you prefer the simpler and more laid back activities? If any of these apply, then today’s post is for you! Let’s get a little steamy! Check out these inexpensive date ideas just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Indoor Picnic
This take on a classic when it comes to date ideas is perfect for Valentine’s Day! It may be too cold where you live to be out in the elements. Opting to do a romantic indoor picnic is the perfect solution! I suggest small finger foods so that you can feed each other – who knows  maybe have a little more fun afterwards. 😉

Walk in the Park
Perhaps the weather is permitting where you live – plus if you and your hunny like the outdoors, then this is the perfect laid back date. Dress warm and comfortable for a date full of talking, holding hands and taking in the scenery! I love going for walks because it forces you to talk to avoid the awkward silence but in return you end up learning so much about one another. It is simply the best!

Game Night
Whip out the deck of cards and Monopoly game! This date is great for the pockets as most of us own at least a deck of cards but if not they are available pretty much everywhere for less than $5. Or do a game of twister in just your undergarments. Tensions are due to rise! Plus a little competition never hurt anyone. To spice things up, agree that the loser has to give the winner a full body massage afterwards.

Obstacle Course or Escape Room
David came up with this idea so shout out to him. 🙂 This idea is great because it allows you to work together, help build trust and strengthen your bond as a couple. It is definitely “left field” when it comes to date ideas for Valentine’s day but that’s what makes it great! This date is ideal for couples who feel that they are not the cookie cutter type and love doing things different or out of the box. Plus if you guys are working up a sweat doing an obstacle course – you will definitely have to wash up. (Do with that what you will.)

Do you have any Valentine’s Day plans? I definitely don’t which is totally okay. David and I will probably use this post as our guide for our V-Day plans! Share this with your Valentine if you enjoyed this post!

As always, XO and Stay FAB! ~ Stormie J
