Holiday Themed Winter Tag!

Hey sweetie pies, happy Wednesday! I figured for today’s post I would do something a little fun. I am part of a blogger network group and we are doing a winter tag so I figured I would join in on the fun! Since Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year, I couldn’t resist! Here I have a series of 15 questions relating to winter time and the holidays. Check out my answers below! 

1. What is your favorite holiday tradition?

I actually have quite a few but some of my favorites are picking out a live tree, baking goodies while listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas specials with Davy while drinking hot cocoa or tea. 

2. What’s your favorite go to winter lippies?

I personally love wearing Too Faced’s Melted Liquid Lipstick or my tried and true Milani Lipstick. But honestly, pretty much anything that is in dark rich tones are ideal for me. I will always gravitate towards those because there is something so luxe about a dark lip. Pair it with a glam eye and a faux fur accessory and this look is glam and perfect for the holidays! 

3. What is your favorite winter scent?

I personally love Frosted Cranberry, Marshmallow Fireside, and Cinnamon Caramel Swirl candles. 

I actually have a few but I believe the biggest one at the moment is statement earrings. They just compliment everything so well. It doesn’t matter what you pair it with, whether that is a chunky sweater, a double breasted peacoat, a stylish hat or a bedazzled dress, statement earrings just work so well! 

I also love pairing a dress or skirt with otk boots. This look is definitely tried and true but to make it trendy for this season, opt for booties with a mid length dress or skirt to maximize your layers. 

This was a tough one as I LOVE holiday movies, Christmas tv specials, the cartoons and classics alike. I think my all time favorite will have to Home Alone. I still laugh as if it is my first time seeing it. I just love that movie!

6. Your all time favorite holiday song?
 My all time favorite hands down is “All I want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey. That song will never get old to me! I did a post last year where I shared my favorite holiday songs, you can check it out here.

7. Do you prefer to travel during the holidays or stay home?
As much as I love to travel, I have to say that I am a bit of a homebody during the holidays. I love going out to parties, performances and such but there’s nothing better than cuddled up with those you love and spending quality time at home. I love baking and watching Christmas specials so I definitely prefer to stay at home.

8. Your favorite winter skin care must haves?
My skin suffers substantially during this time of the year. Due to the colder temps, my skin is a lot more dry so anything that will moisturize is a must have. I have been using coconut oil on my skin like it is going out of style! It is one of the few things that I can use at my leisure without irritating my skin. I also like using a good moisturizing scrub such as this Lavender/Vanilla Sugar Scrub. This moisturizing scrub includes shea and cocoa butters in its formula – which is perfect to use this time of year.

9. Your favorite winter hair care must have?
When it comes to my hair care, it is similar to my skin care regimen. I have make sure that it stays moisturized especially since I have really thick hair. I make sure to use plenty of coconut oil. I also use the LOC method on my hair when I wash it. I occasionally put hair masks on and let it sit for 15-30 minutes.

10. Your favorite winter activity?
Omg I have so many!!! It is almost impossible to limit it to just one so I won’t, hahahaha! I love decorating the house, baking goodies, shopping, watching Christmas specials, looking at Christmas lights, snuggled up at home and doing shows (attending or participating). I love love love the winter time!

11. Your must have winter beauty product? 
This one is kind of tough but I think that I would have to say mascara. Mascara can make me look fresh eyed without putting on a full face of makeup. Plus your eyes can always be seen no matter how bundled up you are. 🙂 For a natural look pop on a bit of blush, lip balm and mascara and you are all good!

12. Do you love the snow or hate it?
I actually love the snow but unfortunately where I live it doesn’t snow too often. But when it does snow, I am that one that will have a snowball fight and everything! I love it.

13. One item on your wishlist this year?
One thing that I want this year is a diffuser/humidifier. I would love one that you can put essential oils in. Ever since I started working on the musical, I have learned about some benefits from using them so I definitely want to try some out. I will link some options below.

14. Your favorite holiday treat?
I would definitely have to say that I have a few favorites. I love a caramel brulee latte from Starbucks as well as the cranberry bliss bars. I also love my brownies. I mean not to toot my own horn or anything buuuttt…. TOOT TOOT!

15. Holiday shopping finished before December or last minute?
As much as I would like to say that I get my shopping done ahead of time, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Pretty much every year I end up spending the last few days scrounging through every store to find that “perfect gift”. I do it to myself every. single. year. Hopefully one of these years I will get better.
