Feeling Feminine with Chunky Knits! – Outfit Inspiration

“Every artist was first an amateur.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hey sweetie pies happy Monday! For today’s post I wanted to bring out the knit wear. I am talking chunky sweaters and chunky scarfs. When it comes to chunky knits, they are usually thought to be warm and comfortable. While this statement is true, I wanted to find a way to make a chunky knit sweater fit my style. I definitely like pairing unexpected pieces together often with a feminine or edgy touch.

I decided to pair this knit sweater that I got last season from Target (similar options listed below) with my tried and true pencil skirt. I opted for an oversized fit for the sweater picking it up in an XL. This kind of skirt is perfect because of its fit which creates contrast for the loose oversized sweater. So that my waist line wouldn’t get lost in the look, I decided to do a half tuck in the front. This allows the peplum, which adds feminine flair, to show and draws attention to my waist. If you ever have a boxy or oversized top with bottoms and you want to accentuate your waist, opt for the tuck. It definitely works every time. I decided to do a knee length skirt because I have really thick thighs plus you don’t want the sweater to completely overpower the skirt.

For my accessories I decided to keep them on the minimal side. I opted for these cognac suede lace up heels (similar here) to help break up the monotony of this look. Plus they paired so well with my gold accessories. I opted for my fave watch with a simple pendant necklace and gold hoops. You know it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t opt for a little print in the mix. I completed the look with a leopard mini tote and brown sunnies.

What do you sweetie pies think of this look? Let me know in the comments below! I have a feeling that this look will definitely become a staple in my wardrobe. How do YOU style the chunky knit sweater?

As always, XO and Stay FAB! ~ Stormie J
