“Tough times never last, but tough people do.” ~ Robert H. Schuller
Hey hey sweetie pies! I hope you all had a great weekend! I got this beautiful dress recently from Rainbow and I love it! It is super comfortable and festive! It is great to wear to a barbeque or a day party with some heels. I love the pom details along the sleeves and the cold shoulder detail. I think the only thing that I would take away from this dress would be the hemline at the bottom. I wish it were even all the way around. I personally feel like the hem takes away from its appearance and makes it appear cheap.
However, I still do like it enough to keep it and will definitely be rocking it this summer! I like that it has some flowy quality to it. I believe that it has the potential to be dressed up or down.
I love it when you guys interact with me! Whether that’s on here or social media, I read and try to respond to every comment. It warms my heart that you all seeing my posts but are also receiving them openly! One question that I get often is ‘how do you stay confident? or How do you deal with insecurities?’ I figured I would share my top 5 tips on gaining and maintaining self confidence!
1. Learn and Know Yourself
Now while this may sound as intuitive mumbo jumbo as it can get but I mean every word of it. I think it is so important to know who you are and know your truth. This is the first step in establishing self confidence.
2. Love and Accept Your Flaws
Your flaws are what make you unique and beautiful, embrace them! There is nothing more special than a woman who loves herself unapologetically. Accept your uniqueness and rock on! To take it a step further, celebrate those flaws! No one can be a better version of you than YOU!
3. Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
It is so true when they say ‘comparison is the thief of joy’. I have mentioned this on several separate occasions how I used to compare myself to others in the past. It can be extremely overwhelming because I am a dancer and a blogger. Both careers where image and appearance play a key role in the audience you attract and the audience you keep. Sometimes it would be really hard to not compare myself to other dancers and bloggers. However, I worked hard to shake this mentality and learn that I am not meant to be like anyone else, I am meant to be Stormie and that is more than enough. You are more than enough.
4. Know What Styles work for your Body and Build your Wardrobe Around That
Even though I wear pretty much what I want, I am still mindful of my figure. There will be certain clothing items that you will not see me in because they do not flatter my figure. I never feel bad in anything that I own in my closet because I only invest in pieces that I love and work well with my figure. If you guys would like for me to do a post on how to build a wardrobe around your body shape, let me know in the comment section below!
5. Participate in Activities that Allow You to be the Best Version of You
Get in the habit of doing an activity that makes you feel confident, beautiful or strong. (or all three) Whether that is yoga, roller derby, dance, sewing – find a way to incorporate it into your schedule. Taking that time out of your schedule to focus on you will slowly change your mood and perspective on things. Carving out that time to do something that makes you happy will definitely positive return on investment. If it is some form of physical activity, that is even better. You can kill two birds with one stone!
I am looking to do a blog post on self care tips soon, what do you sweetie pies think?
