Style 101 : How to Use your Makeup as an Accessory or Foundation

“Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hey sweetie pies! I hope you all had a great week! For today’s post, I want to share how you can use your makeup to amp up your outfit! Makeup seems to be taking the world by storm. Especially with the cosmetics industry working around the clock to bring hot, new and improved products constantly. If you are a real and true makeup junkie or just wear a touch of lip color for just special occasion, you can use makeup as an accessory or foundation for an outfit.

Got a bold lip color but have no idea what to wear with it? Use that color as a foundation to create a color palette around your outfit. I started with True Brown K from Kylie Jenner’s LipKit. I personally like this dark unique color.

I love the soft pink neutral eye look which inspired this outfit. The blush or rose quartz here looks beautiful. Due to the soft pinks and neutrals found in this eye makeup, I wanted to incorporate that into other aspects of the look. With a dash of serenity and some neon colors, this look definitely offers an unexpected edge.

For the final look, I opted for a more dramatic makeup look. Since the makeup is very bold, I opted to keep the rest of the outfit simple and minimal. Here I treated the lipstick as an accessory and added a pair of matching pumps to help bring out that red. By doing this, I add a fun pop of color.

I hope this inspires you at styling your makeup differently. Start small and work your way from there. It can be a lot more fun that you think.
Whatever you’re doing this weekend, have fun and be safe!
As always, XO and Stay FAB! ~ Stormie
