Style 101 : How to Update Your Look Without Breaking the Bank : Print Mixing

“Inspiration comes and goes, creativity is the result of practice.” ~ Phil Cousineau
Hey Sweetie Pies, Happy Wednesday! Who has struggled with feeling like they have nothing to wear or felt like they needed an obscene amount of clothes in their closet to have a stylish wardrobe? Do you know a stylish lady who always seems to have it together? Every time she steps out she always fashion-forward in a surprising way? You ever check out other bloggers’ pages and wonder how they manage to always be so stylish, while rocking items that you have already seen them in before? Well sistahs you are NOT alone! I am starting a new style series where I will share a style tip every week on how to update your look without shopping. (Yes this is very possible to accomplish!) I want to push you to look at your wardrobe in a totally new way. I want to help you expand your knowledge and use of your current wardrobe. In today’s post I am going to share with you my first style tip which is mixing prints!
Now I have mentioned mixing prints in previous posts but I figured I would share some style examples. The biggest thing to keep in mind is to find a color found in both prints. For more convenient mix printing, opt for a neutral color such as black, white, gray or tan.

Another tip to consider is mixing a bold print with a minimal print to add juxtaposition and create a nice balance to your look.

You can also elevate your look further by adding a pop of color. The biggest thing to remember when doing this is let this pop of color show in one accessory such as your shoes, handbag or a piece of jewelry. Try to limit it one piece only. 🙂

I hope that this post has helped you to begin revamping your wardrobe without breaking the budget! I will be sharing a new style trick next week.
As always, XO and Stay FAB! ~ Stormie
