Reflecting on 2015 and Preparing for 2016

“We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.” ~ Maya Angelou

Hey sweetie pies! We are literally less than 2 days away from 2016. Who’s excited?! I know I am! In today’s post, I am reflecting on this year and the many blessings. Blessings such as you all! I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support that you’ve shown me this year! It means the world to me. 🙂

2015 was definitely a rocky year for me. My boyfriend and I got in a terrible car accident early this year that totaled out our car. (We were able to settle out and get a new one…thank God!) I started this new journey of becoming a merchandiser and opening my own online boutique. I experienced moving away (the farthest I’ve ever been from my family–I am somewhat of a homebody) and starting all over. I dealt with depression this year and trying to find my way in a new (and much bigger) place, which was definitely a challenge. Dealing with financial issues and overcoming those as well as other obstacles. So Fabulously Sweet has grown so much this year with turning 1 year and all of the collaborations and sponsored posts. I have joined the Houston Fashion Bloggers Association and have met some extraordinary people along the way. 🙂 It is truly a blessing to be where I am in my life right now.

I am so excited to make next year even better than this year! I don’t personally believe in “resolutions” because I set goals throughout the year all of the time. It really helps me to be accountable for my setbacks and celebrate my victories. I just want to share some of the ways that I am preparing to have an awesome 2016 and maybe these are things that can help you too.

I have always been a “planner junkie” but I want to continue to remain organized. As many of you may already know, I wear several hats from blogger to dance teacher to businesswoman so it is super important that I stay organized. I have an Erin Condren that I have already started using and I am in total love!

Another thing that I really want to do for the year is a vision board. My boyfriend and I will be doing our own individual ones as well as one together. I posted a few images to relate to some of the things that I am striving for in the new year such as pursuing all of passions such as dance. Many of you know that dance is my first passion and this year it has kind of been put on the back burner. But that will definitely be changing next year. Dance is going to be a priority. I have already been working on this one, but I will also continue to celebrate creativity daily.

Goals : Vision Board

A lot of people exercise with the goal of achieving a certain amount of weight loss, that’s not the case for me. I am honestly working on incorporating exercise into my weekly routine for the sake of being a healthier me. I feel like I have let myself go some in that regards so I definitely want to get back in shape.

Goals : Fitness

Now I am not going to lie, I was a little hesitant to post about this because religion is such a sensitive subject, especially in this day and age where people are persecuted because of their chosen religion. I also am not trying to pose as someone who is the perfect Christian, because I am not. I simply want to speak on relationship. I want to strengthen my relationship with Christ. I am a believer in the fact that you can have as muc
h religion as you like and still not know your Savior, to have a relationship. This year, my primary focus is to seek Him in all things and strengthen my relationship with Him.

Goals : Religion

I couldn’t let this post go by without mentioning a few of my favorite looks and/or posts. (I couldn’t resist, lolz) If you haven’t checked out these posts, then you totes should after you finish here. 🙂  Enjoy!
